You can take those 2 barrels with you and if you are undead you can ONE of those barrels to kill alexander and the geists right outside the gates of fort joy the first time you see him by using chemelion cloak, running behind alexander out of their sight range, sneaking, throwing a deathfog barrel on the ground and attacking it. after grabbing the skull key and unlocking the door, if you are quick, you can grab both of those deathfog barrels before the void monster smashes them.
